The Nazis were not innovative and progressive in a positive sense, but rather in a negative and destructive way. They were able to implement their radical and oppressive ideologies through the use of propaganda, technology, and military tactics. Their ability to manipulate and control the masses, as well as their ruthless pursuit of power, allowed them to achieve their goals in a way that was unprecedented at the time. Atheists and agnostics can have a wide range of political beliefs and ideologies, so it's difficult to make a blanket statement about their political leanings.
